The studio, the community, your account, and what to do when something shouldn't be here. If the answer isn't on this page, write to us — a person reads it.

Getting started

You can draw without an account and without installing anything: the studio opens in your browser, and creating projects, drawing, recording audio, and exporting all work the same way. An account only comes into play when you want to publish to the community.

The studio

The full tools manual lives on its own page, because it's long and meant to be looked up, not read start to finish — you get there with a question, not from the beginning.

The studio saves your project in your own browser, on its own, as you draw — you don't have to press anything. That also means the work stays on that device and in that browser: to move it somewhere else, export the project and open the file on the other end.

Community

The community is where finished animations show up. Watching doesn't require an account; publishing, commenting, and liking do.

Publishing

Finished exporting? The Publish button shows up right there, at the end of the export: choose a title, who can see it, and tags, and you get a link ready to share. It works in any browser — recording in WebM publishes just like recording in MP4.

Who can see it

PublicShows up in the community, on your profile, and in search.
UnlistedOnly opens for people with the link. It doesn't show up in the community or in search.
PrivateOnly you see it. Good for keeping something without showing it.

Remix and credit

When you publish, you decide whether to let someone else remix it — open your project in their own studio and pick up from there. If you don't allow it, the project file never leaves here: people can watch it, not open it. When someone remixes it, the new post is born with credit linked back to yours.

Comments

Every comment goes through a filter before it appears. What passes goes live right away; what the filter holds back sits in a queue and a person reads it. That's why one of your comments might take a while to show up — and why this audience includes children without the page turning into a free-for-all.

Storage

Each account has 200 MB for what it publishes — the video, the thumbnail, and, when you allow remixing, the project file. Deleting a post frees up its space right away.

Account and privacy

The community account is created through Sign in with Google or with an email and password, and it exists just for publishing, commenting, and liking. Drawing never required an account, and it still doesn't.

Moderation and safety

Every report is read by a person. Three reports on the same post automatically hide it from the showcase while it waits in the queue — better to pull it out of sight and later find out it was nothing than the other way around. Hiding is the wait, not the verdict: after it, here are the two possible outcomes:

KeepIt doesn't break the guidelines. The post stays as it is.
RemoveIt comes down. If it was a comment, whoever wrote it is notified.
